Parts Update

Category: Exterior / Body,General Info / News — Jeff at 5:58 pm on Friday, April 13, 2007 |

It’s been a nightmare getting the body parts i need.

I at least now have both fenders, the nose, and most of the other little crap i need. Here they are, still wrapped in bubble-wrap.

So here’s the story: first i bought all the parts i needed from a guy on ebay called “mk3House”. He seemed on the level, and the parts were at a decent price. Four and a half months after i sent him money, and about 30 emails and a dozen calls later, he finally returned my money. Now i needed to find someone else who had all the parts i needed, and in decent shape. Again the SupraForums came through for me. mostly.

It’s been about 4 or 5 months since i payed for my parts, and now i finally have all of them except for the hood. This guy’s been really trying to get it to me for a long time, but has just had problem after problem with Fed Ex.

As it stands right now, the hood is apparently sitting in a Fed Ex storage location with it shipping label torn off. They’ve “found” it and are getting it back in route to me now. Hopefully i’ll be getting it soon. We’ll see.

I even managed to get all the parts almost the same color as my car, unfortunately though, they’re flat white and my supra is pearl white. It needs paint anyway.

News: Nooooooo! -crash-

Horrible news.

On April 29th, 11:18pm, my Supra was in a wreck. It now has front-end damage, and it’s pretty nasty, but not too much to fix, and it looks like no frame damage and no engine damage, though the intercooler (stock) may need replacing.

Foglight Rewire

Category: Lighting — Jeff at 12:35 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 |

Foglights Before By default, the factory wiring for the foglights (in the US) are set to only come on when the headlights are on. I suppose there was a reason, though in Canada, the supra’s foglights were on all the time, as “saftey lights” or something. A supra mk3, with JUST the foglights on, is a sight to behold. it’s damn sexy. I decided i wanted my foglights to be switched (so they are only on when the key is set to the “on” position) but otherwise i want total control of when they’re on and off. Ideally i wanted to just leave the switch on all the time, so that the fog lights are on whenever the car is running, but i also want control to turn them off if i feel like it. Interior TRD Badging

Category: Interior — Jeff at 1:22 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 |

I found a cheap, nice looking TRD badge on eBay for a couple bucks so i bought it. I was looking for a place to put it on the exterior of the car, but nothing looked very clean, and i still want the car to look simple and nice on the outside, without too much clutter. I didn’t want the badge to go to waste though, so i put it inside the car.

Part Wanted: Roof Drip Moulding

Category: Parts Wanted — Jeff at 3:55 pm on Monday, October 17, 2005 |

This piece of moulding keeps the water from the roof and windshield from pouring inside the window, and redirects it back to the back of the car keeping it on the roof. It’s a little rain gutter.

Mine, on both the driver and the passenger sides, are pretty torn up. There are little pieces broken off, about the size and shape of a finger. I’m assuming the previous owner used the moulding to assist in getting in and out of the car, and ripped little pieces off in the process.
