Front Side Marker Lights

Category: Lighting — Jeff at 3:18 pm on Monday, April 5, 2004 |

The front side marker lights are just above and in front of the front wheels. My passenger side lens is nice and cracked open. it’s pretty amazing that as much water, snow, and other moisture that can freely hit the bulb, it hasn’t ever gone out. Cracked is cracked, though, and it needs to be replaced.

I talked to Mike at supracarparts.com and purchased both replacement lenses. ($25 for the pair, very good condition.) All you need is a phillips head screw driver for this one, and there is really only one screw. Unscrew that single screw, and gently pull back the trim.

You dont have to pull the trim all the way off. (infact, you cant, unless you unscrew a second screw. It’s the screw attaching the outermost side of the turn signal lens.) You only have to pull the trim back far enough to reach a finger and a thumb between the trim and the body. On the farther back side of the side marker light fixture, there is an attachment you have to squeeze. Once you squeeze that together, you can just pull the fixture right out. Now you can go ahead and disconnect the light, which only takes a quarter turn clockwise to do.

Now, grab your relatively shiney new lens. Connect the light, push the lense back into the hole, (it’ll snap into place) and screw the trim back on.

Project Complete!

aaahhh. much better.
The car is all dirty, but at least the lens all better now.
